Making Your Home Smell Wonderful During The Holidays
Have you ever walked into someone’s house and it smelled absolutely amazing? Do you want your house to smell great? With the brilliant tips to follow, you will learn how to make your house smell good all the time.
I am a scent freak. I have a library of scents that I use in my home. Different scents in the form of candles and essential oils are just about the only thing I collect. I am also a bit OCD about the scents I use. I cannot use spring scents like garden mint and cucumber melon in the winter nor winter scents like pine or cranberry during the summer. And when someone is not well or they are stressed, my seasonal scents get a reprieve and are temporarily replaced with lavender and eucalyptus.
Interestingly, our sense of smell is the one scent that can trigger memories and emotions quicker than many other scents. 75% of all emotions generated every day are due to smell. That is why scents can affect the feeling you have when you enter a home or a room.
“Scents can have positive effects on mood, stress reduction, sleep enhancement, self-confidence, and physical and cognitive performance,” says Theresa Molnar, executive director of the Sense of Smell Institute, the research and educational arm of the perfume industry’s Fragrance Foundation. Think of your favorite scents as mood boosters and Scents can serve as your personal mood booster, which is exactly what a good smell does. By becoming more aware of the way specific odors affect us, you may be able to use scents as a way of enhancing your health and well-being.

According to Real Simple….The simplest way to get your home smelling like the holidays is to light a candle in your favorite seasonal scent, like Glade Icy Evergreen Forest 3-Wick Candle. It has notes of fresh woods and frosty air, reminiscent of Christmas trees and winter walks through the woods.
All of the above tips are great for making your home smell good. But the most important way to have a fresh smelling home is by having a home that is clean. We all know that odor problem spots include litter boxes, garbage cans, pet beds, and diaper pails. But many do not realize that dust stinks. Getting rid of dust is the first and most important step to having a home that is clean and smells clean. To help cut down on dust in your home, regular cleaning is especially important. Our Medina cleaning company can create a clean environment that is dust free and smells nice! Having your home professionally cleaned will remove the general odors that accumulate on surfaces. Cleaning will destroy the sources that cause odors in homes.
